What:  Yom HaShoah Service

When:  Thursday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m.

Where:  Congregation Beth Shalom in Clifton Park

Description:  The Rabbis of Beth Shalom, Gates of Heaven, Agudat Achim and Beth Israel will officiate.  Jeff Stein, Musical Director at Beth Shalom, noted pianist, organist and choral conductor whose family members were sent to the infamous Nazi concentration camp at Terezin will speak on the remarkable story of Rafael SChecter, a brilliant young and passionate Czech opera-choral conductor who was arrested and sent to Terezin in 1941.

When:  Sunday, May 5 at 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

 

What:  Rosh Hodesh

When:  Monday, May 6 at 7:00 p.m.

Where:  Schenectady JCC

Description:  The Rosh Hodesh groups of Congregations Agudat Achim, Beth Israel, Beth Shalom, Gates of Heaven and the Schenectady JCC invite you to the 5th annual joint Rosh Hodesh women’s program.  We will enjoy a trivia game featuring Jewish women leaders and we will celebrate Golda Meir’s 121st birthday with cake and other refreshments.  Please register by calling the JCC at 518-377-8803 or by email to Liora Kelman at larabinessa@aol.com

 

What:  Sisterhood Spring Donor Luncheon

When:  Sunday, May 19 at 11:30 a.m.

Where:  Beth Israel

Cost:  $35 for Sisterhood members, $40 for non-members

Description:  Enjoy mimosas & punch as you look over the prizes on the auction table.  The luncheon will feature a delicious Catskill Mt. meal (remember those?).  Start planning your vintage outfits that you’re going to wear!  Background music provided by our own Jimmy Strosberg.   Please RSVP by May 12 to Tobi Applebaum at 518-399-8476.
